About Us
Wei Sun is a New York-based guzheng artist, performer, and educator dedicated to bringing the beauty of Chinese music to contemporary audiences.
Coming from a musical family, Wei Sun began studying the guzheng at the age of six. Since establishing her artistic career in New York, she has performed and collaborated across diverse cultural and artistic settings, with appearances at venues and institutions including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the United Nations, and Merkin Hall.
Her work explores the connection between traditional Chinese music and contemporary artistic expression. Through performance, arrangement, education, and cross-cultural collaboration, she seeks to create meaningful musical experiences that connect Chinese musical heritage with audiences around the world.
In addition to her performance career, Wei Sun is the founder of New York Guzheng Academy, where she continues to share her knowledge and passion for the guzheng with students of different ages and backgrounds.
Based in New York City, Wei Sun continues to perform, teach, and develop new artistic projects that celebrate the guzheng as both a traditional Chinese instrument and a versatile contemporary voice.
